 Early Years Outreach Intervention Service Lead

Hours: 33.5 per week, Monday–Friday, term‑time only
Salary: Kent Scheme D £26,393 + SEN Allowance £1,484.97 (pro rata)
Location: Tunbridge Wells and surrounding Early Years settings

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference for children across the Tunbridge Wells district.

As our Early Years Outreach Intervention Service Lead, you will:
• Provide specialist SEND support across Early Years settings
• Design and deliver targeted interventions (wellbeing, regulation, communication, sensory support)
• Model best practice and support inclusive teaching and early identification
• Work directly with children and families in 1:1 and small‑group sessions
• Support transitions into mainstream or specialist settings
• Line‑manage and develop Specialist Intervention Outreach Assistants
• Build strong relationships with Early Years leaders, therapists and multi‑agency partners
• Contribute to the Early Years Professional Resource Group (EYPRG)
• Maintain high‑quality records and provide clear feedback

• Communicate effectively with families and professionals
• Are organised, compassionate and reflective
• Hold a full driving licence and have access to a car (travel required)
Relevant qualifications in education, Early Years or SEND are desirable.

Location and travel
You will work flexibly across multiple Early Years settings in the Tunbridge Wells district. A full driving licence and use of your own vehicle are essential.

Information about the school

Oakley School is the Tunbridge Wells District Special School for day pupils, aged from 3 to 19 years, with a specialist Observation and Assessment Nursery for 3-5 years. All our children and young people have profound, severe/complex needs and communication and learning difficulties.

We have a site in Tonbridge which caters for our Phase 4 (16+) students and a site in Tunbridge Wells which caters for children and young people from the age of 3 to 16. Our one-day Section 8 OFSTED inspection in October 2024 reaffirmed us as 'Good'. We aspire to be outstanding in all that we do.
