The Medical Centre Administrator will provide comprehensive clerical and administrative support to the Medical Centre team, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of daily operations. They will assist clinical staff in delivering high-quality care to students, coordinating appointments, managing communications with parents and staff, and maintaining accurate records within a busy boarding school environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site clerical and administrative support to the Medical Centre team, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of healthcare services in a boarding school environment.
  • Manage student appointments, including coordinating transport, medical escorts, and communicating clinical information to staff and parents.
  • Maintain and organise the rota for medical escorts to ensure full coverage across the School 24/7.
  • Liaise with House Matrons, the Immunisation team, GP practices, and pharmacies to support student care, medication requests, and vaccination clinics.
  • Handle general office administration, including filing, diary management, petty cash, and other day-to-day tasks.
  • Maintain accurate medical and administrative records, ensuring compliance with GDPR and information governance policies.
  • Respond to phone calls and enquiries from internal and external contacts, directing them to the appropriate team member.
  • Undertake additional reasonable duties as required by the Line Manager, Principal, or Senior Leadership Team to support the efficient running of the Medical Centre.

Further Information

The starting salary for this role is £28,423 per annum (DOYRMS Band 6, full-time equivalent). This post is part-time at 20 hours per week, worked on a rota basis during term time only, plus an additional two weeks worked during school holidays. The pro rata salary is £12,376 per annum.

Established in 1803 by His Royal Highness Frederick, Duke of York, The Duke of York's Royal Military School has a rich history rooted in educating the children of military personnel. Originally located in Chelsea, the School relocated to its current site in Dover, Kent, in 1909.
