We are looking for a compassionate and caring Family Liaison Officer to join our team and work alongside our SENCO in supporting families and promoting positive outcomes for children and young people.

You will be working closely with parents and carers to offer ongoing support and enable appropriate access to outside agencies. This will involve suggesting parenting and behaviour strategies, supporting health and medical needs and assisting emotional wellbeing.

You willl be working under the direction of our experienced SENCO, carrying out agreed actions to support pupils and families. You will also be maintaining regular communication and liaising with relevant staff and professionals.

Main Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Act as a point of contact for parents and carers needing additional advice and support for issues outside of the classroom. 
  • Maintain ongoing communication with families in need. 
  • Keep up to date on the latest services available in the local area so you can promote and signpost parents/carers to these via a range of communication channels (e.g. social media, newsletters, in meetings, etc)
  • Supporting pupils in school with their emotional wellbeing.
  • Keep up to date records of support offered and outcomes via the school's systems.
  • Complete relevant paperwork required by external agencies
  • Support parents/carers through the application process for accessing local services and help them attend relevant meetings.
  • Supporting individuals and cohorts under the direction of the SENCO. 
  • Work in line with statutory safeguarding guidance (e.g. Keeping Children Safe in Education, Prevent), and our child protection and health and safety policies
  • Work with the designated safeguarding lead (DSL) to promote the best interests of pupils, including sharing concerns where necessary
  • Promote the safeguarding of all pupils in the school

Number on Roll:- 402 Singlewell School offers a warm, family friendly environment, set in a peaceful location on the outskirts of Gravesend. Since expanding to a two-form entry in September 2016, the school has benefited from a newly built facility and now operates at full capacity, with two classes in each year group from Reception to Year 6. Each class is supported by dedicated Teachers and Teaching Assistants. We are fortunate to have modern, well-equipped facilities and spacious grounds, providing an excellent space for both learning and play.

Our Ofsted inspection recognised that Singlewell is a Good school. Progress and attainment are high across the school and teaching is good. It stated that attendance is high, behaviour is good and children enjoy coming to school. Pupils are eager to learn and work enthusiastically together. There are very positive relationships between pupils and staff.
