Are you passionate about working with children and creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment after school? Mersham Primary School is looking for an enthusiastic After School Club Lead to take overall responsibility for running our vibrant After School Club.

As the After School Club Lead, you will play a vital role in enriching the lives of children aged 4-11 by planning and organising a variety of enjoyable activities. You will also be responsible for preparing healthy snacks, ensuring the club runs smoothly, and maintaining high standards of health, safety, and safeguarding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the After School Club operations daily
  • Plan and deliver a diverse range of stimulating activities suitable for children aged 4-11
  • Prepare and serve healthy snacks to support children’s well-being
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment, adhering to health and safety and safeguarding policies
  • Foster positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff
  • Ensure smooth day-to-day running of the club, including record-keeping and communication

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience working with children in a similar setting
  • Understanding of safeguarding and health and safety requirements
  • Ability to plan and organise engaging activities
  • Food preparation skills with an emphasis on healthy options

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Enthusiasm for supporting children’s development and well-being

Hours and Salary

  • 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 3:00pm – 6:00pm (term time only)
  • Salary: £26,393 pro rata
