Caretaker and Site Support (Part-Time)

Location: Pierview Academy, Gravesend, Kent, DA12 2AH
Salary: £27,800 FTE


About the Role

Pierview Academy is seeking a dependable and proactive Caretaker and Site Support to oversee the maintenance, compliance, and health and safety of the school site. This is a vital role in ensuring a safe, compliant, and well-maintained environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.

The role also includes broader operational support and may involve assisting with learners and driving school vehicles when required.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain school buildings, grounds, and facilities to a high standard

  • Support health & safety and statutory compliance across the site

  • Carry out routine inspections, repairs, and maintenance tasks

  • Coordinate and supervise contractors and external services

  • Monitor cleaning standards and maintain a safe learning environment

  • Maintain compliance records and support fire and health & safety requirements

  • Provide general site and operational support as needed


About You

You will have experience in caretaking, facilities, or site support, with a strong understanding of health and safety requirements. You will be practical, organised, able to work independently, and committed to safeguarding and professionalism within an educational setting.
