Caretaker and Site Support (Part-Time)

Location: ALP Sittingbourne, 60 Bell Road, Sittingbourne, ME10 4HE
Salary: £27,800 FTE


About the Role

ALP Sittingbourne is seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker and Site Support to take responsibility for the maintenance, compliance, and health and safety of our school site. This is a key role ensuring the school environment is safe, compliant, clean, and well maintained for pupils, staff, and visitors.

The role also includes wider site and operational support, which may involve assisting with learners and driving school vehicles when required.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the school buildings, grounds, and facilities to a high standard

  • Support and monitor health & safety and statutory compliance across the site

  • Carry out repairs, maintenance, inspections, and routine checks

  • Coordinate and supervise contractors and external services

  • Monitor cleaning standards and ensure a safe, welcoming learning environment

  • Maintain compliance records and support fire, health & safety, and risk assessments

  • Support school operations, including occasional learner support and driving duties


About You

You will be practical, organised, and safety-conscious, with experience in caretaking, facilities, or site management. You will have a strong understanding of health and safety requirements, be able to work independently, and communicate effectively with staff and contractors. A flexible approach and commitment to safeguarding are essential.
