Nursery Teacher Vacancy

Our Nursery children need a teacher — and our staff need a supportive colleague!

Are you passionate about early years education and want to work in a school where children truly are at the heart of learning and teaching? Greatstone Primary School & Nursery has an exciting opportunity for a Nursery Teacher (3 days per week) with the potential to increase to 5 days in other areas of the school. The additional two days would involve covering classes in other year groups, offering variety and professional growth.

Why Join Greatstone?

At Greatstone, we thrive on openness and honesty. We create a happy, nurturing environment where both children and adults feel valued and inspired. We laugh a lot, but we also know when to be serious. We care deeply and everything we do is focused on what’s best for the young people in our care.

Our school is more than just a place to work; it’s a community where collaboration, creativity, and kindness are celebrated every day. Plus, we’re lucky enough to be by the sea — a beautiful setting that adds to the joy of working here.

The Role

  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and ambitious Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) learning experiences.
  • Foster a safe, respectful, and stimulating environment where every child can flourish.
  • Work closely with families, colleagues, and external partners to support each child’s individual needs.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including occasional cover in other year groups.
  • Be part of a team that values professional development, reflective practice, and continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

  • A qualified teacher with a passion for early years education.
  • A warm, enthusiastic professional who inspires curiosity and a love of learning.
  • Someone eager to collaborate and contribute to our positive school culture.
  • A reflective practitioner committed to the best outcomes for children.

Safeguarding

Greatstone Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful candidate will be subject to pre-employment checks including an enhanced DBS check, references, and the right to work in the UK.

If you’d like to dip your toe in (and enjoy the sea breeze too), please get in touch with our Head of School, Mrs Jaclyn Kay, to discuss this exciting opportunity. We look forward to welcoming you to our Greatstone team
