Contract Type: Term Time Only + 2 Weeks (40 hours per week) or All Year Round
Reporting to: Finance Director (transitioning to Finance Manager once appointed)

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-driven Accounts Assistant to join our friendly and supportive finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the smooth and efficient running of our school’s financial operations, supporting the Finance Director and wider leadership team in ensuring high standards, accuracy and professionalism.

About the Role

As our Accounts Assistant, you will support the day-to-day financial operations of the school and help ensure our financial affairs are managed accurately and efficiently. You will play an active role in:

  • Producing accurate financial statements

  • Managing intercompany transactions

  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting

  • Carrying out financial analysis

  • Undertaking a range of financial and administrative tasks

You will be trusted with sensitive information and expected to uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Level 4 or above qualification in Accountancy or recognised business/finance equivalent

  • Minimum 2 years’ bookkeeping experience

  • Experience using cloud-based accounting software

  • Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel

Desirable Experience

  • Payroll experience

  • School finance experience (1+ year)

  • Full UK driving licence
