Alternative Provision 1:1 Leader – Bredgar, Sittingbourne

Nurture-Focused | SEMH | Ages 4–14
Hours: Monday–Friday, 09:30–14:30
Start: January 2026
Contract: Term-time only (13 weeks paid leave)

Yew Tree Farm School is looking for a warm, compassionate practitioner to provide 1:1 support for children with significant SEMH and SEND needs at our Bredgar site. This is a nurturing, therapeutic role working with younger pupils who benefit from relational support, structure and emotional regulation.

You will design and lead bespoke farm-based sessions using animals, gardens and outdoor learning to help children feel safe, calm and ready to learn.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience with SEMH/SEND (primary preferred)

  • Uses a gentle, therapeutic, child-centred approach

  • Can plan meaningful, creative, outdoor activities

  • Is calm, resilient and confident supporting dysregulation

  • Enjoys working in a farm and nature-based environment

This role would suit someone with a background in nurture groups, therapeutic education, SEMH provision or pastoral support.

Yew Tree Farm School is a small, independent special school for children aged 7–11 with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), with a primary need of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Our unique outdoor setting uses the farm as a dynamic classroom, offering a broad and balanced curriculum that integrates academic learning with real-world, practical experiences. Our mission is to re-engage learners who have struggled in traditional classroom environments, helping them build confidence, resilience, and independence to transition successfully to their next educational setting.
