Midday Meals Supervisor

Speldhurst Church of England Primary School is looking to appoint an energetic and enthusiastic  Midday Meals Supervisor. 

Are you available to work during lunchtime?   Do you enjoy supporting children at play?  Can you work as part of a team?  Are you able to confidently encourage children to eat well and play safely? Are you physically fit and able to assist with setting up and clearing the lunch hall?

Monday – Friday - 2 hours across lunchtime (Approximate timings - 11.00am - 1.00pm)

10 hours per week, term time only

Pay Scale: KRA (full-time £24,513) pro rata £6,942.36

We are looking for an enthusiastic Midday Meals Supervisor who is keen to work as part of a team to make sure that children have a happy and safe lunchtime. 

The role is very fast at times changing from job to job, cutting food supporting children to try different foods, monitoring food intake recording and reporting changes. 

Encouraging children to use cutlery correctly, use manners and manage their volume levels in the hall so that it provides a pleasant environment for everyone.

Monitoring friendship groups, allergens, additional needs children and requested separation of individuals.

Cleaning and relaying the tables at a fast pace ready for the next class. 

Collection of children from the designated area Classroom or playground using a bell and vocal commands arranging the children into the colour groups adjacent to the hall reminding children of the hall rules whilst entering and queuing in the hall and support them in the hall. 

End of service clean disinfect tables, benches, chairs, trollies, bins before putting away sweep and mop hall floor. 

Playground support, to join other staff members on the playground during break to support children maintain a safe environment during break times. 

Constantly being vigilant in the environment to help and engage children to be safe in the environment. 

Visits to the school are encouraged

Speldhurst Church of England Aided Primary School is in a village 3 miles from Tunbridge Wells in Kent and is at the heart of a thriving village community. We are a small, caring school with just 212 pupils so it is possible to know every child.

The school became Voluntary Aided in September 2004 and is known for its strong sense of community and Christian ethos. We gained outstanding judgements in all 5 areas following an Ofsted inspection in February 2025 and also have an Excellent SIAMS judgement (June 2019).

Our dedicated team of teachers, governors and support staff work closely with parents to provide the best possible opportunities for our children.
