Lunsford Primary School is a happy and high achieving one form entry primary school in the Larkfield area near West Malling, Kent. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, effective and highly-skilled School Business Manager (SBM) to join our team. The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for a range of operational services, including financial management, human resources, health & safety, premises and general administration.

As part of the Senior Leadership team, the SBM plays an important role in managing the strategy and operations of the business functions in our school. The position is wide and varied and therefore requires an individual with excellent finance, organisational and people skills, who can embrace the complexities of this demanding role. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled individual to join our hardworking and passionate team.

We are seeking a School Business Manager who:

• Is determined to make a difference to our school community and help us on our journey towards providing exceptional educational provision for our children

• Can ensure effective management, reporting and recording of the School’s finances

• Shows an ability to use existing resources to overcome challenges and create new and effective solutions

• Will be a positive role model for children, parents/carers and colleagues, and approach tasks with energy and enthusiasm

• Demonstrates emotional intelligence, integrity and confidence

• Is a highly effective communicator, with the ability to relate positively to both children and adults

• Has a proven ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team

• Has a commitment to the happiness, well-being, self-esteem and progress of everyone at the school

Salary Range £30,404 to £33,752 FTE (KSF). Working patten 21 hours per week

We are an oversubscribed one form entry primary school in Larkfield, Aylesford catering for pupils from Reception to Year 6. The school was recently refurbished and has seven classrooms, a brand new computer suite, a library at the centre of the school, a Design and Technology/ music room as well as a spacious hall. We are fortunate to have an extensive playing field which is used for PE and games as well as a woodland crafts area for Forest School inspired and outdoor learning.

The school has a reputation for high attainment and we are justly proud of this. We have a commitment to high academic standards whilst maintaining a rounded view of education where the needs of all learners are catered for.

We recognise that our staff (along side our children here) are our most important resource and are valued, supported and encouraged to develop personally and professionally within a learning and caring community. As part of our informal local collaboration, we work closely alongside other local primary schools. We also have strong links with Canterbury Christ Church University.

We have well behaved, hard working and polite children who are a real credit to their parents and the school. We have a very active School Council and Eco Club and offer a wide variety of lunchtime and after school clubs for a small school.
