Cover Supervisor
(35 hours per week, term time only)

Pay Scale Band 5 pt 14-17
£24,906 to £25,484
(pro rata £19,832 to £20,292 p.a.)

We are excited to be looking for a Cover Supervisor to join the team, starting as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will, ideally, have proven experience within the classroom and will join a professional, enthusiastic, and well-respected team.

As a Cover Supervisor you will be required to supervise classes during short term absence of colleagues.  You must ensure the classroom is a safe and an engaging environment in the absence of the classroom teacher, so all students are able to access and complete the work set by the absent teaching staff member.

If successful, you will be required to respond to general questions that students may pose but you will not be expected to fulfil any planning, preparation, delivery or assessment of students’ development or progress.  The good behaviour of the class is paramount, and you will be expected to maintain and manage this as per the expectations within the School’s Behaviour Policy in order for all students to perform at their best.

As a Cover Supervisor, when not covering a lesson, you will be expected to use your initiative to aid and support the school by undertaking a variety of tasks in different areas of the school such as photocopying, invigilating, attending school trips etc.

Chatham & Clarendon has a reputation for high standards of student behaviour, academic achievement and pastoral care and maintains an enviable programme of extra-curricular provision.

An electronic version of the application form and supporting material can be accessed from the ‘Vacancies’ section of the school website www.ccgrammarschool.co.uk

Applications welcome via email to Mark Baker Milner, HR & Administration Manager on mbaker@ccgrammarschool.co.uk

Closing date: (8.00 am) Thursday 20th November 2025
Interview date: Thursday 27th November 2025
