St Michael’s Prep School is seeking a passionate and versatile Teacher of Singing with the potential to undertake some classroom music teaching.

 

Essential:

As a Teacher of Singing, the ideal candidate will provide skilled instrumental tuition in singing, fostering a love of music across a range of styles. The ideal candidate will be able to motivate and inspire children, monitor progress, and offer tailored support, including examination preparation. They will also contribute to the extra-curricular life of the school, including concert rehearsals and performances.

 

Desirable (for classroom teaching only):

An ability to deliver engaging curriculum music lessons across the Prep School. They will also play a key role in supporting whole-school singing and supporting termly concerts and productions. Collaboration with the Director of Music and other staff is essential to ensure a rich and cohesive musical experience for all pupils.

 

The role demands a high level of musical proficiency (Grade 8 or diploma in primary instrument, Grade 6 piano or above), experience in teaching and directing choirs, and strong communication skills.

 

A commitment to safeguarding, pastoral care, and collaborative working is essential. The successful applicant will have a genuine desire to make a difference in children’s musical journey.
