Are you an outstanding teacher with proven successful experience of teaching in Year Six?  Do you love a challenge, enjoy the thrust of Year Six and want to make a difference to the life chances of children?  We are looking for a brilliant teacher to come and teach our Year Six intervention groups.  The role is mornings only, five days per week until 30th August 2026.  (After KS2 SATs, the role will switch to Year Five intervention).

You will be a good team player who will work alongside the Year Six teacher to ensure that teaching is carried out strategically to attain the best outcomes.  The current intervention teacher remains in school and will be available for support and guidance.  Currently, the intervention groups are 7 or 8 children who love working in a small group. There is a big challenge to move them to where they need to be, but leadership, (all experienced Year Six teachers) have reasonable expectations but big aspirations!

We're not looking for someone who thinks that having a small group means less work; we're looking for someone who thinks that having a small group brings about exciting opportunties and a chance to make a huge difference.  If you love filling gaps, providing individualised strategies and love a challenge, this might be the job for you.

"I love Cage Green and I know that Cage Green loves me," is what one child said about our school during our very succesful, Ofsted.  If you understand why this was the best thing a child could say, then you might be the person we are looking for.

Most people get into teaching because they want to make a difference. A member of staff once said, "You work here because you think you can change the world."  This is very true.  The combination of beautiful behaviour and many children who come from deprived backgrounds means that there isn't a school like it in Tonbridge where you can make such a difference to children's lives and get the satisfaction that comes with it, as well as enjoy your work.

We are a noisy, energetic and enthusiastic staff with a positive outlook and a very good sense of humour. Our children are lovely; they are enthusastic, well behaved, motivated and ripe for some great learning. We are looking for a teacher to join us  who will share our positive outlook. Teachers at Cage Green are people who have a real drive to change the futures of children, provide a safe space to those in need and do the things that make a difference. If you are an ambitious, forward thinking teacher you might just be the right person to join our team of excellent practitioners.

If you want to know more about the school or the role, I would be very pleased to meet you and take you on a tour.  Once you see our calm, focused children and the enormous potential they represent, I am sure you will feel the same passion for this school that our staff do.  Please contact me, Joanna Styles, Headteacher on 01732 354325.
