Are you a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher looking for an exciting new opportunity? The Malling School is seeking an enthusiastic teacher to join our dynamic Science department. For the right candidate, there is the opportunity to take on the additional responsibility of Second in Charge (2iC) of Science with a TLR2c.

We offer flexible working options, including full-time and part-time contracts, with a start date to be discussed at interview.

The Role

As a Science Teacher (with potential 2iC responsibility), you will:

  • Teach engaging and challenging Science lessons across KS3–KS5.
  • Benefit from excellent behaviour systems and strong departmental support.
  • Participate in developmental learning walks and collaborative curriculum development.
  • Contribute to the ongoing success and innovation of the Science curriculum.

The Ideal Candidate

You will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and be able to teach Science at KS3 and GCSE (KS5 experience desirable).
  • Be reflective and innovative in your teaching practice.
  • Have a proven track record of achieving excellent outcomes for students.
  • Be committed to making a lasting, positive impact on young people.
  • Bring enthusiasm, collaboration, and a values-driven approach to your work.

All successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced DBS disclosure, Occupational Health check, two satisfactory references, an online check, and (where applicable) a prohibition from teaching check. A mixed 11-19 co-educational High School of 1,000 pupils serving the historic market town of West Malling and surrounding villages. The school is set in pleasant rural surroundings and has its own lake and extensive grounds.
