St George’s Church of England Foundation School is a vibrant and inclusive community where every child is valued as an individual. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years/KS1 team, supporting pupils in their learning and wellbeing.  This is a part-time position, working Monday and Friday, 8.30am – 3.00pm with a 30 minute unpaid break each day.

About the role
The successful candidate will:

  • Work with individuals and small groups under the direction of teaching staff, providing targeted learning support and feedback.
  • Encourage independence, inclusion, and engagement for all pupils across the curriculum.
  • Support behaviour management and help maintain a positive and purposeful classroom environment.
  • Assist with preparing learning resources, displays, and maintaining a safe and stimulating environment.
  • Support children’s social and emotional development, reporting concerns to the class teacher or SENCO.
  • Provide support during break times, educational visits and, when required, in personal care routines.

  • Has experience working in Early Years and/or Key Stage 1.
  • Is patient, caring, and committed to helping every child reach their potential.
  • Can work collaboratively as part of a dynamic teaching team.
  • Demonstrates flexibility, reliability, and a positive attitude.
