Our English Department
You will join a collaborative, forward-thinking team delivering ambitious, knowledge-rich curricula. The Role
As a Teacher of English, you will:
• Teach across the age and ability range, including opportunities at KS5.
• Contribute to innovative curriculum development and high standards of practice.
• Access extensive, personalised professional development.
• Work within a culture of coaching, developmental feedback, and robust behaviour systems.

TLR (for the right candidate): Additional responsibility may be offered (e.g., Key Stage Coordination or Whole-School Literacy).

The Successful Candidate Will:
• Hold QTS and be able to teach English at KS3 and GCSE (KS5 desirable).
• Be reflective, innovative, and values-driven.
• Demonstrate proven or potential ability to secure excellent outcomes for students.

All successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced DBS disclosure, Occupational Health check, two satisfactory references, an online check and, where applicable, a prohibition from teaching check. Information about the school

A mixed 11-19 co-educational High School of 1,000 pupils serving the historic market town of West Malling and surrounding villages. The school is set in pleasant rural surroundings and has its own lake and extensive grounds.

West Malling is close to the county town of Maidstone and has excellent rail links to London and Ashford
