Here at Leigh Academy Oaks, we continue to provide outstanding education to all children. Every child is unique and has the opportunity to develop and grow as a learner. We feel it is vitally important that children learn about and connect with their communities. By doing so this broadens their horizons to the impact they can have on the wider world and the insight to where a fantastic education can lead them in life. Our curriculum offer is broad, balanced and bespoke. By delivering the National Curriculum through the lens of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, we aim to foster a love of learning where every individual has a voice, choice and ownership over their learning journey. We champion outside of the box thinking and empower our pupils to take action alongside their learning wherever possible. Our inquiry led approach presents children with problems faced in society (past and present), an understanding of perspective and the opportunity to pursue their passions. We further enhance our curriculum with a co-curricular provision which presents the children with a plethora of enriching avenues in which to deepen their learning.

Our dedicated staff strive to make learning engaging and aim to offer as many ‘real-life’ learning experiences as possible, making education exciting, interesting, and meaningful. We want all pupils to become confident, independent learners with curious minds. Our comprehensive and balanced curriculum is tailored to our pupils. By integrating the National Curriculum with the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, we foster a passion for learning. This approach ensures every member of our academy, pupils, staff and parents alike, have a voice, choice, and ownership in their educational journey with us.

Our Recent OFSTED inspection from 2021 has confirmed that our pupils have an infectious appetite for learning and relish every opportunity to become more knowledgeable. This is because learning is placed firmly at the heart of the school. Expectations of pupils are high. Time is spent ensuring that pupils learn to take responsibility for their learning. This means that they are fully invested in all parts of school life.

We are a proud member of Leigh Academies Trust who are pioneering in their drive to improve educational standards for all. We are part of a team who strive for such excellence and are presented with a wealth of experience, knowledge and expertise from our fellow Leigh Academies Trust Academies. We are fortunate to be supported with cutting edge technology and resources which can break down barriers to learning, help us act more sustainably and prepare children for the technological world they will be responsible for shaping.

Community is at our core and we value every stakeholder within our immediate and wider network, including our international school links helping us connect across the globe.
