We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Teacher of Drama to join our Performing Arts team during a period of maternity leave. This is a part-time role (2 days per week), with the potential to teach across Key Stages 3–5 depending on experience.

About Drama at Towers

Our 220-seat proscenium arch theatre – The Rylance Theatre – is at the heart of school life. Hosting around 25 performances each year and equipped with a cutting-edge LED lighting rig, it is both a teaching space and a professional-standard performance venue.

Drama is a popular and aspirational subject at Towers. We offer a wide range of performance opportunities, extra-curricular clubs, theatre trips and outreach programmes, which recently earned us the prestigious Platinum ArtsMark Award. We also deliver Arts Award (Bronze to Gold), OCR GCSE Drama and Cambridge Technical in Performing Arts.

We are proud of our strong partnerships with the Royal Shakespeare Company, the National Theatre and Jasmin Vardimon Dance Company, giving staff and pupils access to outstanding CPD and industry opportunities.

About the Role

  • Opportunity to teach KS3, KS4 and KS5
  • Involvement in clubs, rehearsals and enrichment activities is essential
  • Contribution to the wider life of our thriving Performing Arts faculty

  • Enthusiastic about extra-curricular drama and committed to inspiring pupils both in and out of the classroom
  • Able to deliver engaging lessons that support our knowledge-rich curriculum
  • Experienced in OCR GCSE Drama and/or Cambridge Technical Performing Arts (advantageous but not essential)
