As a result of Cornwallis Academy’s increasing popularity and excellent reputation in the local community, we are looking to appoint a highly driven and inspirational full-time teacher of Physical Education who would relish the opportunity to become part of our PE Department on a fixed term basis, as soon as possible. Our PE department consists of a team of skilled and motivated practitioners, which makes the post suitable for a colleague at the start of their career.  

This is a unique opportunity to become a part of the ever-growing partnership between Cornwallis Academy, Maidstone Football Club and EMC Football Academy, where the vast majority of time will be spent in teaching their Academy players.

As well as our state-of-the-art facilities, we have an exciting programme of trips, visits and extra-curricular activities.  Cornwallis Academy values positive and professional working relationships and seeks individuals who will support this ethos.

The successful candidate will be a creative and inspiring teacher who will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • The ability to teach PE up to KS5, including Level 3 BTEC Sport
  • Expertise in planning, assessment and preparing samples for external verification
  • Be an outstanding classroom practitioner who can inspire students
  • Recent, relevant teaching experience
  • Commitment to drive and develop the extra-curricular programme
