Teacher of Physical Education (Maternity cover)

Full/Part time

Salary UPR/MPR

Start date: Monday 8th December/January 2026

 

We are seeking to appoint a Teacher of Physical Education for a maternity cover. 

The applicant will be required to teach KS3 mixed gender PE and KS4 girls PE. 

The applicant will also be required to support fixtures in line with the district on Tuesdays and/or

Thursdays afterschool:

Term 3 girls' basketball fixtures

Term 4 girls' football fixtures

Term 5 and 6 athletics and rounders fixtures

 

Applicants must have high expectations of achievement and behaviour, strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with staff, parents and students. Newly qualified teachers are welcome to apply. They must also be sympathetic to the Catholic ethos and Mission of the School.

Located on the southern fringes of the historic city of Canterbury, St Anselm's is a happy and successful wide ability school, catering for those who wish to receive a Catholic education. The school has a large catchment area extending from Ashford to Herne Bay and from Wingham to Faversham. It is regularly over-subscribed. The Sixth Form, numbering 150 students, offers a wide range of Advanced level and vocational courses. In September 2004 the school became a specialist school for Science, though retaining its Catholic ethos.
