Premises Maintenance Operative – Required for November 2025

Salary:  MNS Range 6/7 (£26,133 - £31,994 per annum) (depending on experience)

We are looking for a committed and motivated Premises Maintenance Operative (Caretaker) to join our current site team. This position will assist with the care of the academy premises, ranging from general maintenance duties including minor repair and refurbishment works, porterage and other duties, supporting the current team in ensuring the health and safety and security of the site.

Applicants need to be trustworthy, reliable, hardworking, physically fit, conscientious, and able to work independently as well as part of a team. Ideally you will have good DIY skills as well as some knowledge of health and safety. Full induction will be provided, with the successful applicant initially shadowing the team/shifts until comfortable and trained in the site processes.

Hours are 37 per week, however, as an employer who embraces flexible working, we are happy to accept applications from those also looking for part time or job share.

The site team operates a shift system on a rotating basis: 6.00am – 2pm, 7.30am – 3.30pm or 11am - 7pm (inclusive of a 30-minute lunch break). Hours may be varied depending upon need. One day per week will be an early finish of 30 minutes, as advised. You will be required to work one in three Saturdays. Hours 8.30 am – 4.00 pm (with a Friday being granted in lieu). 

27 days annual leave plus bank holidays and time off between Christmas and New Year (rising to 29 days after 5 years continuous service). Up to 20% of annual leave can be taken during term time – subject to line management agreement.

Salary:  Currently £26,133.00 - £31,994.00 per annum (depending upon experience).
