Leigh Academy Hugh Christie is looking for a Food and Textiles Technician to join our dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised and enthusiastic individual to support our thriving Food Technology and Textiles departments, starting in November 2025.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing materials and equipment for practical lessons, maintaining a safe and tidy working environment, and providing technical assistance to students and staff. You will play a vital role in ensuring our students have the resources they need to excel in their creative and practical studies.

Our Ofsted report from October 2023 confirms that our quality of education, Personal development, leadership and management and sixth form provision are all good. Pupils have a range of opportunities to broaden their experiences. They enjoy the good-quality clubs, trips and visits that the school provides. Pupils develop leadership skills through taking on additional responsibilities. For example, sixth form students apply for roles such as ‘head students’ or ‘house champions’. Many sixth-formers use some of their free periods to support younger pupils’ learning in lessons.
