Advert

We are looking for a Communications Assistant, starting 17/11 2025, to support children in our Registered Provision for Hearing Impaired children. This is initially a temporary contract until July 2026. However, dependent on numbers of children attending ,and securing the necessary funding, there is a possibility that the contract will continue into the next Academic Year in September 2026. Ideally we would like this to be a full time position (term time only) but we are willing to be flexible for the right candidate.

Responsibilities would include: - helping to access the curriculum and communicate - support with learning - support with physical development - developing sign language skills

An ideal candidate should have experience of supporting children with social and communication difficulties. We would also be looking for: - experience and/or qualification in British Sign Language up to Level 2 - recent experience of working in schools and supporting children - flexibility and a genuine desire to get the best from children.

The position will be for 30 hours per week, working 8.30am to 3.00pm Monday to Friday. You will be paid on a pro rata basis for these hours and for 39 weeks a year. Please make it clear on your application if you are not able to manage these hours and state clearly how many hours per week you would be available.

If you would like to discuss this opportunity in more detail or take a look around the school, then please contact the Headteacher Pete Talbot.
