Bourne Alliance Multi Academy Trust is looking to appoint a skilled driver to drive a mini bus to transport children from our four schools.

This role is for 10 hours per week, Thursday and Friday from 8.30 am until 1.30 pm, working term time only (38 weeks and 2 days per year) and with annual salary of Range 3, annual salary £5,702 ( full time equivalent £24,581)

Successful candidate’s responsibilities will include:

  • Driving children between schools and to events
  • Being responsible for the safety of pupils under their supervision and reporting any concerns over pupil safety or discipline;
  • Informing schools’ leadership teams of any issues delaying arrival or departure times;
  • Checking that the mini bus contains enough fuel for journey;
  • Informing Estates Manager of any issues relating to the mini bus; advising them if the components are not in good working condition and reporting potential problems to the Trust leadership team;
  • Leading on checking the minibuses, booking MOTs, services etc
  • Keeping minibuses clean and tidy
  • Liaising with school staff to drive for school trips and visits

You should have:

  • a current, clean and valid driving licence D1 unrestricted or a PCV licence.
  • D1 restricted (where licence obtained prior to 1/1/1997) would be considered.
  • Due to insurance restrictions you will need to be aged between 21 and 70 and have held a full UK or EU driving licence for a minimum of 12 months to drive the minibus.
  • A good knowledge of local area
  • Good communication skills when interacting with Trust leadership team, school staff and children;

We are looking for candidates with a pleasant approachable personality who can demonstrate patience and good communication skills with a wide variety of people. You must be willing to undertake other tasks that are appropriate to your skills and experience. You must be able to demonstrate honesty, reliability and have a strong sense of responsibility and confidentiality. Experience would be an advantage but is not essential. There is potential for additional overtime working

 Successful candidate will also be asked to take MIDAS mini bus driver training before they commence their duties.
