Monday–Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm

The Role 

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in shaping brighter futures. Working closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals, you’ll provide personalised learning and care support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). 

You’ll: 

  • Build strong, positive relationships that boost self-esteem, independence, and inclusion. 
  • Support learners with social, emotional, and mental health needs with empathy and resilience. 
  • Assist in delivering engaging, creative lessons tailored to individual needs. 
  • Promote positive behaviour and respond compassionately to challenges. 
  • Help design and review learning and care plans, ensuring every student can achieve their EHCP goals. 
  • Safeguard pupil wellbeing  

 

About You 

We’re looking for someone who is: 

  • Experienced in supporting young people with SEN and/or behavioural needs. 
  • Resilient, adaptable, and proactive – with a real passion for helping learners thrive. 
  • A great communicator who builds trust and respect with pupils, families, and colleagues. 
  • Open to learning, reflecting, and developing through ongoing training and feedback. 
  • Ready to embrace our aspirational and inspirational culture at Haven Nook – bringing the balance of care and ambition every day. 

(An Enhanced DBS is required; Mental Health First Aid training or similar awareness is an advantage.)
