Leigh Academy Hugh Christie has an exciting opportunity for an engaging and enthusiastic Head of Learning - Performing Arts to join their thriving department from January 2026. Our successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Performing Arts department and ensuring high standards of teaching and learning. If you are an experienced Performing Arts practitioner ready for a role with leadership responsibilities, we want to hear from you!

This is a chance to join and lead an enthusiastic team of Performing Arts specialists who are dedicated, driven and highly creative. Our Ofsted report from October 2023 confirms that our quality of education, Personal development, leadership and management and sixth form provision are all good. Pupils have a range of opportunities to broaden their experiences. They enjoy the good-quality clubs, trips and visits that the school provides. Pupils develop leadership skills through taking on additional responsibilities. For example, sixth form students apply for roles such as ‘head students’ or ‘house champions’. Many sixth-formers use some of their free periods to support younger pupils’ learning in lessons.
