Joy Lane Primary Foundation School is a welcoming and inclusive primary school, dedicated to providing a nurturing environment where every child can reach their full potential. We are currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning

  • Work with individual pupils or small groups to reinforce learning objectives

  • Help create a positive, engaging and inclusive classroom environment

  • Assist with the preparation of resources and classroom displays

  • Contribute to the welfare and safeguarding of all pupils

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children (school or early years experience desirable)

  • Is patient, caring and confident in supporting children's learning and development

  • Works well as part of a team and uses their initiative when needed

  • Has excellent communication skills with both children and adults

  • Is flexible, reliable and committed to helping every child succeed

    All candidates should have a high standard of spoken and written English and Mathematics.  They should be good and effective communicators with children and adults, friendly and approachable, flexible and adaptable, able to work on their own initiative and with good time management skills.  A sense of humour also helps! Joy Lane Foundation Primary School includes a PVI Nursery and a Special Resourced Provision (ASD) which is set in beautiful, extensive grounds near to Whitstable beach and town centre. We have just over 700 children attending our Nursery, Oysters SRP and twenty one mainstream school learning environments; the School also benefits from its wonderful swimming pool and Forest School. We are a supportive collaborative team which is committed to promoting a love of learning, for life, for the whole community. Our strong and inclusive ethos begins with the belief that everyone can succeed and combines positive personal values with the highest academic achievement.
