About the Role 

We are looking for a creative Tutor and Animal Care Assistant with equine knowledge and experience, who is passionate about caring for children and animals to join our amazing team on our truly unique site. 

 
Your principal duties and responsibilities will include – 

  • Ensuring all our horses and other animals are happy and they receive exceptional care.  
  • Routinely checking, feeding, grooming and when required, exercising all animals. 
  • Ensuring all animals have suitable and sufficient bedding, as directed by the Head of Animal Care.   
  • Assisting any visiting vets, farriers and dental technicians by preparing animals for examinations.
  • Maintaining a safe and hygienic working environment in stables, fields, and animal enclosures
  • Supporting the Head of Animal Care with the updating of animal management records and medication logs when required.  
  • Raising any safeguarding concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Leads. 
  • Supporting the Head of Animal care with the planning, delivery, and assessment of learning opportunities.  
  • Supporting staff members in other divisions as and when required.  

Completing all required training to support the effective delivery of this role. This may include overseas travel. 

 

About You 

  • Equine knowledge and experience are essential. 
  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant, HLTA or Teacher. 
  • Supportive and nurturing approach towards working with children.  
  • Experience of working with SEND learners is desirable. 
  • Caring and passionate about the welfare of all animals.  
  • Equine knowledge and experience are desirable. 
  • Competent IT knowledge and skills. 
  • Full current UK valid driving license. 
  • Willing to work outside in adverse weather conditions all year round. 
  • Effective team player, who builds trust and positive relationships.

This is a permanent contract starting as soon as possible, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Fridays with occasional weekend cover when required. This position is pro-rata to 44 weeks per year.
