At Horsted School, we are looking for an inspirational, passionate, and experienced Nursery Teacher with QTS to lead our brand-new nursery provision for children aged 3 to 4 which is due to open in January 2026.

🌱 About the Role

You will play a pivotal role in establishing and leading our new nursery setting. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and delivering an outstanding EYFS curriculum tailored to 3–4-year-olds.
- Creating a warm, welcoming, and safe environment.
- Collaborating with senior leaders to develop routines, policies, and a strong team ethos.
- Building strong relationships with families and the wider community.
- Leading and supporting a small team of nursery staff to ensure high-quality care and education.

👤 Person Specification

Essential:

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- A proven track record of outstanding teaching in an early years setting.
- Deep understanding of child development and the EYFS statutory framework.
- Experience in leading or contributing to the development of early years provision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A nurturing, creative, and reflective approach to teaching and leadership.

Desirable:

- Experience in setting up or significantly developing a nursery or early years unit.
- Paediatric First Aid qualification.
- Experience working with children with SEND.
- Knowledge of effective parental engagement strategies.
