Job Title: Part-Time Facilities Assistant
Location: Heath Farm College, Maidstone ME16 0ER
Salary: £21,125.00 per annum (not pro rata)
Hours: 32.5 per week, Mon–Fri
Contract: Permanent, 52 weeks
Start Date: September 2025

About the Role

We’re hiring a Facilities Assistant to join our team at Heath Farm College. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining a safe, clean, and functional environment for staff and students. This includes general maintenance, cleaning, porterage, and supporting fleet and transport duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out minor repairs, painting, carpentry, and basic maintenance
  • Support upkeep of college grounds (e.g. fencing, clearing drains)
  • Maintain tools/equipment in good working order
  • Support college vehicle inspections and report any issues
  • Assist with staff transport when required

  • Experience in a practical or maintenance role
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work independently
  • A flexible, proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to manage tasks with minimal disruption to college operations

Heath Farm College is situated in Maidstone and has capacity to support up to 58 students. The provision facilitates a professional post 16 provision for students with EHCPs who are not ready for a large FE college or large school/academy 6th Form provision.
