We are looking to appoint a caring and enthusiastic caretaker at our lovely, supportive village school full of happy children and dedicated staff.

The successful candidate will work 20 hours a week Monday to Friday, beginning at 7am (some days you will be required to return in the afternoon, at the end of the school day. Other days you may work your hours across the morning only).

The successful candidate will work for 52 weeks of the year with an annual leave entitlement. 

We would like someone who:

  • Cares about the presentation of the school and its impact on the children and the wider school community;
  • Is trustworthy;
  • Is a team player;
  • Is proactive;
  • Can carry out regular safety checks (alarms, lights, water etc);
  • Can carry out small repairs where possible;
  • Can liaise with contractors;
  • Can manage deliveries;
  • Can keep maintainence and safety records;
  • Can work independently;
  • Can prioritise works to be completed.

The role is subject to an enhanced DBS check as well as other suitability checks.

Information about the school

Hollingbourne is a small, delightful, friendly, village school nestled in the North Downs. It boasts 100 lovely children aged 4 to 11 years.

We have a committed and enthusiastic staff who are determined to enable every child to reach their potential, providing them with a stable, caring environment in which they and are stimulated and keen to learn.

Our staff team at Hollingbourne is our real strength. We work hard to develop the school in ways which best meets the needs of our children and staff alike, ensuring our curriculum reflects this.

The school looks out onto the North Downs and is surrounded by beautiful countryside.

The main building is Victorian with later additions of an Early Years block and a modern school hall. We have access to both a school playground and a large field which the children are encouraged to make the most of.
