KSE £27,852 per annum, pro rata to an actual salary of £20,996.43 per annum 
32 hours per week, Term-Time Only + 5 development days

We are seeking a proactive and well-organised Senior Science Technician to join our dedicated science department at The Malling School. You will lead lab support for KS3–KS5 science, ensuring safe, efficient preparation and delivery of practical lessons.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality science education in a forward-thinking and inclusive school environment.

Main Responsibilities Include:

  • Preparing and maintaining equipment and materials for practical lessons
  • Assisting students and staff during experiments
  • Leading on health and safety compliance (including COSHH and risk assessments)
  • Managing science resources, budgets, and stock control
  • Supervising and supporting science technician

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working in a science lab (ideally in a school)
  • Good scientific knowledge and awareness of lab safety procedures
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work independently
  • Confidence supervising staff and liaising with teaching teams
