The Post

Required for 1 September 2025 (or July for the right candidate) the Trustees are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic sixth form pastoral manager to support the learning of students in Years 12-13 at BCGS, the transition of Y11 students into the Sixth Form or other post-16 destinations, and to offer administrative support to the Head of Sixth Form and Sixth Form Heads of Year.

The successful candidate should be able to show initiative and support teaching and learning of students and for staff alike. This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced candidate to work with colleagues to support the excellent experience of sixth formers at BCGS. 

An ability to support Year 12-13 students and pastoral staff in Sixth Form and an understanding of the education in Key Stage 5 is essential. Experience working with young people is desirable. 

We are willing to consider part-time candidates down to 0.6 FTE, however full-time would be preferred.

THE TRUST

Barton Court Academy Trust (BCAT) is a multi-academy Trust which was established in 2017.

It currently consists of three secondary schools: Barton Court Grammar School, an 11-18 years, mixed selective school in the heart of Canterbury, rated “Good” with many outstanding features by Ofsted in February 2020; The Charles Dickens School, an 11-16 years mixed non-selective school in Broadstairs, rated “Good” by Ofsted in March 2023 and Barton Manor Free School, an 11–18 years non-selective mixed school in the heart of Canterbury which opened to Year 7 in September 2022 and as the school grows now has Y7, Y8 and Y9 from September 2024.
