 The Role:

As Head Teacher, you will:
Provide strategic leadership and clear vision for the school’s future
Oversee high standards in teaching, learning, and pastoral care
Inspire, develop, and support staff to achieve excellence
Work closely with governors, families, and external stakeholders
Ensure compliance with regulatory and safeguarding requirements

Has leadership experience in a primary or special/independent or secondary setting or who has been part of a SLT.
Is passionate about personalised education and inclusive practice
Demonstrates a strong understanding of current educational policies and best practice
Has excellent interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills
Can lead with integrity, empathy, and resilience

Information about the school

Fairlight Glen Independent Special School is a haven for students with SEMH who have had negative experiences in mainstream education. We are registered for 8 to 18, with the main focus on key stages 3, 4 and 5. The curriculum is built around students interests whilst also placing value on numeracy and literacy. For young people in key stage 5, we offer specialist music provision where they can gain RSL qualifications in music production and performance. Popular timetabled activities for all ages include climbing and music. PSHE is also a key priority where we aim to foster the resilience required for adulthood.
