We are seeking to appoint a fixed term 1-1/Teaching Assistant to work directly with a child at Twydall Primary School.  This will involve supporting a child on a more intensive basis, providing 1-1 support. You may also be required to deliver intervention programmes under the direction of the Inclusion Manager. This role is linked to funding for a child, therefore if the child leaves the school the role will cease with appropriate notice period.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide teaching support in small groups and where necessary work with individual pupils to the highest standards 
  • Support a child on a more intensive basis, providing 1-1 support
  • Assist the implementation of individual programmes for pupils and help monitor their progress 
  • Undertake specific duties identified by the class teacher 
  • Maintain a positive, supportive attitude within a team 

Requirements: 

  • NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (or willingness to work towards) 
  • Experience of working with children with SEN including physical difficulties would be advantageous 
  • Understanding of children with different behavioural needs 
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team 
  • Possess a desire to help all children achieve their best 
  • Have a caring nature and a deep regard for children 
  • Enthusiastic, energetic and adaptable 
  • Excellent communication skills
