  • Holds (or is willing to work toward) relevant health & safety qualifications (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH)
  • Has excellent organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
  • Is confident managing compliance matters, risk assessments, and contractor supervision
  • Can work flexibly, especially during holidays, special events, or periods of staff absence

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a supportive and collaborative school team
  • Take pride in keeping a well-loved site running smoothly and safely
  • Work in a varied and engaging role where your input really makes a difference
  • Access training and development opportunities to grow your expertise

Information about the school

Herne Bay High School is a large hugely successful Single Academy Trust that serves the Herne Bay coastal area of North Kent. We have a comprehensive intake and are significantly oversubscribed in all year groups and in June 2022 Ofsted rated the school good with an Outstanding 6th form provision.

Whilst academic rigour and examination success is at the forefront of our development, we passionately believe that a broad, balanced approach to education is important and as such we place great emphasis on the Creative and Performing Arts, Technology, and Sport as a key part of a young person’s early educational journey. Herne Bay High School is also a champion of collaborative practice, with current memberships to the East Kent Learning Alliance (EKLA), East Kent Schools Together Network (EKST), and the Coastal Alliance Co-Operative Trust (CACOT).

Safeguarding Commitment: At Herne Bay High, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. As such, all applicants will be required to undergo comprehensive child protection screening, including checks with past employers, the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS), and Barred List Checks. If you share our commitment to safeguarding and child welfare, we encourage you to apply.
