An exciting opportunity has arisen for a candidate with previous administration experience to join our office team for 16 hours per week, Thursdays and Fridays, 8am to 4.30pm (to include a half hour lunch break), term-time only, 38 weeks per year. Please note that this is initially a one-year contract.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, professional and self-motivated individual as an Administration Officer in our busy office, providing clerical and administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the school. 

This is a key role within the school and the ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience of working in a busy office and managing their own workload
  • An understanding of the importance of confidentiality and safeguarding   
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop good relationships with students, parents, staff and visitors                                  
  • High standard of presentation including professional telephone manner      
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to use own initiative          
  • A confident and professional manner
  • A good eye for detail                                                                
  • A good knowledge of IT systems such as Word (including Mail Merge), Excel and Publisher
  • The ability to multi task and work flexibly and calmly while under pressure 

Experience of primary school admissions processes and procedures, including new Reception class intake and SIMS would be advantageous, although training will be given for the right candidate.

The successful candidate must have GCSE Mathematics and English. Certificates will need to be shown at interview.

Information about the school

St John’s is a four-form entry primary academy located in Gravesend, serving the Parish of St John the Evangelist and the local area. It is part of the Kent Catholic Schools Partnership (KCSP), a multi-academy trust established by the Archdiocese of Southwark for Catholic education across Kent which currently comprises of 30 academies (25 primary and 5 secondary).
