We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Sports Coach on a temporary basis from September 2025 to join our team and inspire the next generation through physical activity and sport! This is a term-time only position working 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday 12pm - 4pm.

About the Role:

As our Sports Coach, you will lead engaging and inclusive physical education sessions and run a fun, varied lunch time and afterschool sports club each day. You'll be working with children across different age groups, promoting fitness, teamwork, and confidence through sport. We would like the Sports Coach to provide opportunities for our pupils to benefit from a programme of fixtures against other schools, entry into regional and national competitions, while our own sporting events – such as sponsored events and summer Sports Days – are some of the most eagerly anticipated days in the School’s calendar.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with primary school-aged children
  • Holds a relevant coaching qualification (Level 2 or above)
  • Is passionate about sport and promoting an active lifestyle
  • Is reliable, energetic, and able to manage groups of children effectively
  • Has (or is willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS check
  • Has )or is willing to obtain) a First Aid Qualification
  • Can deliver high quality, structured and progressive sports coaching sessions with enthusiasm during  the school day, lunchtime and After School Clubs
  • Lead High Quality engaging PE Lessons that align with the national curriculum and the programme the school follows
  • To be a positive role model to colleagues, children and young people by maintaining high standards of coaching, positive attitude and appropriate language.
  • Keep up to date and accurate records, including registers and assessment
  • Take responsibility for organising and maintaining equipment ensuring it is fit for purpose.
  • Ensuring Safeguarding is a priority across all sessions
