We have an opportunity for a highly reliable and hardworking site manager to join our dedicated and caring team.  Working closely with the senior leadership team, the person will need to ensure that our school is a clean, healthy and safe environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safety and security of the school site, with a working knowledge of and competence in Health & Safety systems, general maintenance and have the ability to undertake general repairs of the school site. Experience of premises management is essential, including locking up of the school site.  A sound working knowledge of computers will be advantageous in this role.  For a full list of the job and its responsibilities, please refer to the attached job description and specification for the role.

  • The role will be 32.5 hours per week, with a 30 minute lunch break.
  • Salary -  Kent Scheme D
  • 28 days holiday
  • This post is a permanent full-time position, 52 weeks per annum
  • The working hours are: 11:15am until 6:15pm Monday to Friday to accommodate the closing of the school site at 6:00pm.
  • As site manager, you will be supported by the assistant caretaker who works part time 7:30am until 10:30am Monday to Friday.
  • There will be a need for flexibility around key events in the school calendar e.g. parents’ evenings, school fairs, governor meetings, lettings after school or at the weekends etc.

The Site Manager plays an essential role in the day-to-day running of the whole school environment and as part of the school team, you will be able to work positively and cooperatively with members of the school community to ensure high standards are maintained at all times. The successful individual will be able to work to an agreed plan but also prioritise tasks using their own initiative when handling day to day matters.  If you have the skills and experience we’re looking for, we look forward to meeting you and please apply using the relevant job specification.

St Francis is a popular, inclusive, well- equipped primary school serving a wide Catholic community in Maidstone and beyond. We are a large two form entry school with 420 pupils on roll.
