Are you organised, friendly and passionate about supporting a positive learning environment? 

We are looking for a dedicated Administrative Assisstant to join our welcoming school community on a permanent, part time basis. This is a term time only role 

Hours: 20 hours per week, 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM each day (flexibility of working hours within School hours for the right candidate)

Salary: NJC Pay scale D4-D11 (£24,404 - £27,269 Pro rata to 20 hours per week and term time only)
Start Date: 1st September 2025

In this role, you will be part of a friendly team that welcomes students, parents and visitors. The role will involve managing school administration, handling correspondence, maintaining records and supporting the smooth running of our busy school office. 

 

The position offers flexibility with working hours and is term time only,  supporting a positive work-life balance.

 

Key Responsibilities Include : 

 

Processing invoicing and batch payments

Placing orders with external suppliers

Managing office duties such as  answering phones, taking messages and handling enquiries 

Cash counting and banking duties

Managing'One Card' systems and related administrative tasks

Greeting visitors and answering phone calls.

Supporting administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying and data entry

Following safeguarding procedures and remaining confidential to sensitive information 

 

What we are looking for 

Excellent organisational and communication skills

Friendly and approachable manner

Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team 

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic IT skills

Previous experience in an administrative role is desirable but not essential 

Flexibility with working hours to accomodate school needs

Information about the school

Oaklands School is a Good school ( July 2023 report ) with results which are at or above national averages. We are a two form entry primary school situated in Walderslade.

The school is set in extensive grounds and is well resourced, including our own swimming pool offering swimming from Year R through to Year 6, a Forest School, our very own training kitchen, Art Room, Science Lab, Running Track other superb opportunities for outside learning.
