EXAMS OFFICER

PERMANENT

Contract: 37 hours per week, weeks per year negotiable

Hours: 8:00am–4:00pm (Mon–Thurs), 8:00am–3:30pm (Fri) earlier start times may be required during external exam periods.

Salary: KSF (£30,404 full time equivalent) pro-rata depending on weeks per year worked

About the Role:

As Exams Officer, you will oversee the full lifecycle of exams—planning, entries, logistics, and post-results services—ensuring compliance with JCQ and awarding body regulations. This role is central to our academic operations and ideal for someone who thrives under pressure and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the scheduling and administration of all internal and external exams.
  • Ensure the secure storage, handling, and distribution of exam materials.
  • Coordinate candidate registrations, entries, and seating arrangements.
  • Liaise with awarding bodies, staff, and students to ensure a smooth exam experience.
  • Oversee post-exam processes including results, re-marks, and certificate distribution.
  • Excellent organisation, accuracy, and communication skills.
  • Confidence with data systems and a strong sense of confidentiality.
  • The ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet critical deadlines.
  • Previous experience in a school or exams environment is desirable, but not essential.
