Salary: £21,125 per annum (not pro rata)
Hours: 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent, 52 weeks per year
Start Date: September 2025

About the Role

We’re looking for a reliable and hands-on Facilities Assistant to join our team at Heath Farm College. In this varied and rewarding role, you’ll help maintain a safe, clean, and well-functioning environment for students and staff.

You’ll carry out day-to-day maintenance and basic repairs, assist with vehicle checks and site upkeep, and support the wider facilities team with health and safety, cleaning, and transport as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out general maintenance tasks (e.g. painting, minor repairs, carpentry)
  • Maintain grounds and external areas (e.g. fencing, drains)
  • Perform routine vehicle checks on the college fleet
  • Support cleaning and porterage duties when needed
  • Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and stored safely
  • Report incidents, accidents or repairs in line with school procedures

  • Previous experience in a practical, maintenance, or facilities role
  • Ability to carry out basic handyperson tasks independently
  • Good organisational skills and time management
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others
  • A flexible, proactive approach and attention to detail
