Are you a passionate and dedicated Science teacher looking to take the next step in your career ?

Our vibrant school is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Science department as a Second in Department. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of our students' scientific journeys.
As the Second in Department for Science, you will work closely with the Head of Department to lead and manage the Science curriculum.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the planning, delivery, and assessment of Science lessons.
  • Providing guidance and support to colleagues within the Science department.
  • Monitoring student progress and implementing strategies to ensure academic success.
  • Contributing to the development of innovative teaching resources and approaches.
  • Collaborating with other departments to promote cross-curricular learning opportunities.

What we are looking for:

  • Must have QTS.
  • An innovative Science teacher with excellent subject knowledge across at least one specialism (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics).
  • A strong classroom practitioner who consistently delivers high-quality teaching and inspires students of all abilities.
  • A proven track record of securing strong student outcomes at KS3 and KS4.
  • Experience or readiness to support the strategic leadership of the department, working closely with the Head of Science to drive curriculum development, assessment, and teaching & learning initiative
  •  Someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and can support and develop colleagues to ensure consistency and excellence.
  • A commitment to raising aspirations and ensuring every student achieves their full potential.

 

The role is due to commence September 2025. This is a full time, permanent position.
