Fortis Trust is seeking to appoint talented, creative and innovative thinkers to join the Complex Communities at Bradfields Academy who will be instrumental in further developing this provision.

The complex communities consist of students with ASD/ASC diagnoses and range from EYFS classes all through to Year 14 classes. Currently there are opportunities arising to teach in both the primary and secondary phase, and applications are welcome from practitioners from either phase. Please note there would not be a requirement to teach across both phases.

Candidates should have a clear understanding about effective teaching, raising and sustaining achievement and the care and support of complex young individuals with a range of SEND. They should have a vision and drive to deliver meaningful and personalised curricula, which provide stretch and challenge enabling all students to achieve.

Interested applicants should be a good communicator; able to engage effectively with young children and their parents/carers on a daily basis. Ideally, they will have experience of working with non-verbal students and be familiar with alternative forms of communication, sensory processing issues, and a clear understanding of behaviour as a learning need.

The Trust is looking for a quality teacher willing to join our excellent and happy team of staff to further Bradfields as a well-known and respected Special Academy. We would welcome interest from both ECTs and experienced teachers. The successful candidate will be provided with individualised professional support and induction; including accessing further professional qualifications as required.

Staff at Bradfields have access to the Fortis Trust package of benefits, which includes a wide range of professional development opportunities, and wellbeing support. Staff can also join the cycle to work scheme and have full access to our Employee Assistance Programme and all its benefits. As a Mindful Employer organisation, we also encourage staff to take part in regular ‘wellbeing days’ during the year.

The academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.

Any offer of employment will be subject to satisfactory references and enhanced criminal record check via the DBS system (for Children & Vulnerable Adults).

We are an equal opportunities employer.
