We are seeking to appoint a Head of Business Studies to lead and further develop this successful department at Herne Bay High School, an inclusive secondary school with a strong commitment to academic excellence.

The Role:

As Head of Department, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the Business Studies curriculum. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of the subject in our school, working with a committed team and motivated students.

You will:

  • Lead the planning, delivery, and assessment of high-quality Business Studies lessons.
  • Drive student achievement and progress through innovative and engaging teaching.
  • Monitor and support staff development within the department.
  • Contribute to whole-school leadership and development.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is an outstanding teacher with a strong track record of success in Business Studies.
  • Has experience of leading or contributing significantly to departmental improvement.
  • Demonstrates excellent leadership, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Is committed to raising standards and supporting all learners to achieve their full potential.

Herne Bay High School is a large hugely successful Single Academy Trust that serves the Herne Bay coastal area of North Kent. We have a comprehensive intake and are significantly oversubscribed in all year groups and in June 2022 Ofsted rated the school good with an Outstanding 6th form provision.
