The Duke of York's Royal Military School is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Finance & Payroll Assistant to support the day-to-day financial operations of the School.

The role involves entering payroll transactions into EduPay, managing staff rents, and calculating monthly utility costs for onsite housing. You will assist in monitoring staff cost budgets and provide detailed analysis of payroll totals for posting to accounts. You will also be responsible for processing requisitions, purchase orders, and invoices using Sage 200, ensuring compliance with the School’s purchasing policies, and liaising with various departments. The role includes placing orders with suppliers, processing credit card receipts and claims, and resolving queries with cardholders.

In addition to finance-related duties, you will assist with general administrative tasks, such as filing, data entry, and supporting the HR team with ad hoc tasks. You will also provide cover for other finance team members during absences and have the opportunity to learn new financial processes.

The successful candidate will be a flexible team player, able to carry out a variety of tasks as requested by the Line Manager, Bursar or Senior Leadership Team.

Further Information

The starting salary for this role is £25,252 per annum. The hours for this role are 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 0800-1630 and Friday 0800-1600.

Ideally a full-time Finance & Payroll Assistant position, although reduced hours may be considered.
