Singlewell Primary School is looking for one enthusiastic and dedicated individual to fill two roles on a temporary basis from September 2025.  

The role will be offered on a one-year fixed-term contract. While the position is initially temporary, there is the potential for the contract to become permanent, subject to school staffing requirements and successful performance during the contract period. 

  1. Breakfast Club Assistant

We are looking to appoint a Breakfast Club Assistant to provide high-quality childcare in a safe, caring, and stimulating environment for children from Reception to Year 6.

Key Details:

  • Hours: Term time only, 5 hours and 50 minutes per week, 7:20 am until 8:30 am Monday to Friday.
  • Kent Range KSA £24,513 FTE, Actual Salary: £3,265 per annum gross
  • Experience: Basic food hygiene certificate and first aid certificate (or willingness to obtain) are required. Experience in working with children in a similar setting is preferred.

Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality childcare. Create a relaxed and sociable environment. Ensure a safe and stimulating environment for children. Work flexibly and enthusiastically as part of a team.

2. KS2 Teaching Assistant

Key Details:

  • Hours: Term time only,  31.67 hours per week, 8.30 am until 3:20 am Monday to Friday.
  • The role would include working during the lunchtime period with an unpaid 30 min lunch break.
  • Salary: KSA £24,513 FTE, Actual Salary: £17,740 per annum gross
  • Experience: Qualifications and experience working in both key stages are desirable but not essential. Staff are required to be adaptable and be able to work in different classes over time.  The applicant would need to demonstrate strong English and Maths skills in order to assist the teacher in delivering the lessons and to enable the children to reach their full potential.  

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be required to set up learning areas, lead intervention groups and support children with learning needs as well as occasionally being responsible for the whole class. They would also need to be flexible and enthusiastic with a positive attitude and be willing to undertake 1-1 pupil supervision.

Number on Roll:- 401 Singlewell School offers a warm, family friendly environment, set in a peaceful location on the outskirts of Gravesend. Since expanding to a two-form entry in September 2016, the school has benefited from a newly built facility and now operates at full capacity, with two classes in each year group from Reception to Year 6. Each class is supported by dedicated Teaching Assistants. We are fortunate to have modern, well-equipped facilities and spacious grounds, providing an excellent space for both learning and play.

Our Ofsted inspection recognised that Singlewell is a Good school. Progress and attainment are high across the school and teaching is good. It stated that attendance is high, behaviour is good and children enjoy coming to school. Pupils are eager to learn and work enthusiastically together. There are very positive relationships between pupils and staff.
