Want to ignite a lifelong love of languages in young people? Leigh Academy Hugh Christie is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Teacher of MFL (with a focus on Spanish and/or German) to join our thriving and supportive Modern Foreign Languages department! Whether your expertise lies in the vibrant world of Spanish, the rich culture of German, or ideally both, we're eager to hear from passionate educators eager to make a real difference in our students' lives.

Our MFL team is dedicated, supportive, and committed to fostering a love of language learning. We’re proud of our track record, with many students embracing the EBAC curriculum at KS4 and achieving impressive results. As part of our team, you’ll contribute to engaging lessons that ignite curiosity and open doors to the wider world.

  • Opportunities to grow: We value talent and ambition and are committed to supporting the professional growth of all team members, helping individuals take the next steps in their career.
  • Room to excel: Teaching A-Level Spanish/German is a possibility, but not essential—what matters is your dedication to student success and your own professional growth.

Who We’re Looking For

  • A passionate teacher with strong subject knowledge and a love for sharing languages with young minds.
  • Someone with high expectations for all students, a resilient attitude, and a genuine desire to grow personally and professionally.
  • An educator ready to bring fresh ideas and energy to our forward-thinking department.

We are proud to offer a strong commitment to professional development, with excellent opportunities for growth. For candidates with relevant experience, there is the possibility of taking on additional responsibility and receiving a TLR alongside this role.
