Information about the school

Reculver Primary School is part of Aquila, the Diocese of Canterbury Multi Academy Trust. We are also part of the Coastal Alliance Co-Operative Trust as a partner school. We are a high achieving school with high expectations, and as a result Ofsted judged us as Outstanding in all areas in July 2018. This outcome has been sustained and built upon, validated in our most recent inspection in November 2024. During this inspection it was noted that 'Pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), thrive at this inclusive school. The school offers high-quality pastoral support through its skilled well-being team members. They identify quickly pupils who may require additional support. They offer a range of therapeutic input and personalised mentoring for pupils. Well-trained staff also provide interventions, such as forest school, to improve pupils’ resilience. Staff know the pupils well and support them throughout the school day effectively. Pupils’ behaviour and attendance improve significantly as a result of this work.' (Ofsted Inspection Report 2024)

We are a friendly school by the sea with 17 classes, approximately 450 pupils on roll and we promote a caring, inclusive ethos. The school has a specialist resourced provision for VI and Cognition and Learning and we are committed to quality, inclusive education for all our pupils. The school has benefited from modernisation projects over recent years including a new administration block, new Early Years classrooms, a Year 5/6 block and enhancements to playground facilities which give our children opportunities to develop their social/interaction skills. We are lucky to have a wonderful outside area that we use to the full through our OPAL play at lunchtimes. We are a happy and supportive team, who work together closely and the school has a real family feel to it.

We welcome and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds.
